INGREDIENTS:

  • 3 tbsp. olive oil
  • 1 sm. onion, minced
  • 1 sm. green pepper, chopped fine
  • 2 cloves garlic, chopped fine
  • 2 cans imported tomatoes, with liquid
  • 1 sm. can tomato paste
  • 1/2 c. red wine
  • 1/4 c. Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 tsp. basil
  • 1/2 tsp. sugar
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • --MEATBALLS:--
  • 2 lbs. lean ground beef
  • 1/2 c. seasoned bread crumbs
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 tsp. garlic salt

DIRECTIONS:

  • Saute onion, peppers and garlic in olive oil until tender. On
  • medium heat, add tomatoes with liquid. (Break up tomatoes until you
  • have small chunky pieces.) Add tomato paste, wine, Parmesan cheese
  • and seasonings. Simmer on low heat for several hours. (The longer
  • the sauce cooks, the better it is!) Stir often. Meatballs:
  • Combine all ingredients. Form into balls. Bake in a 350 degree
  • oven until brown (about 45 minutes). Add meatballs to sauce. (Any
  • leftover meat such as pork chops, steak, etc. can also be added.
  • Makes a great flavor.) Serve with your favorite pasta!!
