Apple Pizza $0.00


INGREDIENTS:

  • 1 3/4 c. all purpose flour, divided
  • 3 tbsp. sugar, divided
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 c. butter
  • 1/4 c. vegetable shortening
  • 6 tbsp. cold water
  • 2 red Delicious apples, thinly sliced
  • (I used Jonathans)
  • 2 Granny Smith apples, thinly sliced
  • 1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp. each ground nutmeg and cloves

DIRECTIONS:

  • Preheat oven to 425 degrees. On food processor, combine 1 1/2
  • cups flour, 1 tablespoon sugar, salt, butter and shortening.
  • Process with pulse motion until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  • Gradually add water, pulsing 5-10 times, remove dough from
  • processor. Form ball, wrap with plastic wrap, chill 15 minutes. On
  • clean, flat surface, sprinkle remaining 1/4 flour. Roll dough to 15
  • inch circle. Transfer to 14 inch pizza pan. Pastry will hang over
  • edges. Arrange apples alternating color in concentric circle. In
  • small bowl combine remaining 2 tablespoons sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg
  • and cloves. Sprinkle over apples. Fold pastry edge over apples.
  • Bake 20-25 minutes until golden brown. Serve with frozen yogurt.
